Prevent Drawers From Sliding Around With This Simple Trick

Keeping your kitchen organized can make daily cooking a breeze. A smart storage hack is to use smaller containers to neatly store your cooking tools, like spatulas, ladles, and tongs, inside your drawers. For example, this affordable storage divider has enough space to hold all your essential kitchenware.

Even with these dividers, it can be tricky to keep everything in its place, especially after a busy cooking session. But there’s a simple solution – use some hooks along the inside of your drawer. Once you attach the wires from your storage divider to the hooks, your tray will stay secure no matter how often you reach in for your tools.

Before adding the hooks, make sure you’ve planned where your trays will go, so you don’t have to keep adjusting everything. The trays should have just enough room to be easily removed for cleaning and reorganizing, but not so much that they’ll slide around.

One or two hooks should be enough to hold a storage bin in place. Install them at opposite ends of the drawer, a few inches from the front, so the wire tray can hook in the middle. To take out the tray, gently slide it off the hooks and lift it up. Don’t go overboard with the hooks, or you’ll have to remove them to get the trays out.

For extra security, line the bottom of your drawers with shelf liners before adding the dividers. Liners with texture, like cork or this one, create friction to prevent any sliding.
