Jeremiah Brent is a big fan of beige, and he’s showing us how to make this muted shade look absolutely stunning. In a recent project, he transformed a historic lakehouse with his signature chic touch. The bedroom was designed to be super calming, and the key was matching the soft beige furniture to the beige-toned walls. He played around with different variations of the color to create a layered, visually interesting look.

This isn’t the first time Brent has experimented with matching colors and textures. He’s done a similar technique, called “color drenching,” in his former office space. For the Upstate lakehouse, he used a creamy suede wall color, a fluffy mohair rug, and custom bedding fabrics to really make the neutrals pop. The layered textures are essential to keeping a neutral space from looking boring.
