Whoa, movies have really changed a lot in the last few years! In 2026, cinema lovers have all sorts of options – from massive IMAX theaters to cozy at-home streaming. But with ticket prices and home entertainment costs going up, it’s not cheap to be a movie buff these days.

But hey, there’s a silver lining for fans who’ve hung onto their old DVDs! Just like vintage video games, certain DVDs and box sets have skyrocketed in value. From cult classics to comedy gems, you might have some hidden treasures hiding in your collection. Time to dust off those old discs and see if you can cash them in for a nice payday!

Think big-name directors like Ingmar Bergman, Federico Fellini, and François Truffaut – their classic art house and foreign films compiled into premium box sets can fetch a pretty penny. One Criterion Collection set with 50 discs used to sell for $850, but now sells for over $1,800 on eBay!

And it’s not just arthouse flicks – iconic movie franchises like “Monty Python and The Holy Grail” and “Blade Runner” also have collector’s edition box sets that can go for $300-$400. If you’ve got any of these cinematic treasures stashed away, it’s time to dig ’em out and see what they’re worth!

Just check out the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Complete Series” Steelbook box set – it’s been selling for over $1,100! And good luck finding the “Dragon Ball Z” Dragon Box COMPLETE SET (Volumes 1-7) for anything less than $9,000.
