A robot vacuum is a great way to keep your floors dust- and hair-free between deep cleaning sessions. But not all units are built the same way. And not all advertised claims are true. This is why it’s important to look beyond what a manufacturer or retailer says about a device and focus on real customer reviews. Go through them to understand how each unit performs in real-world conditions, whether it meets your list of must-have features, and what its actual cons are. This will help you set realistic expectations and get a decent return on your investment.
To help you make the right choice without spending hours scouring the internet, we recognized the top-performing models across brands. Then, we ranked them based on their average star ratings and percentage of five-star reviews in ascending order. We covered each device’s best features and significant cons to help you make the right decision. You can find a detailed methodology slide at the end.
14. Ilife’s V5s Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo is a budget-friendly option

Holding the last spot is Ilife’s V5s Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo. This pocket-friendly model (retailing for $75) is ideal for individuals who don’t require a robot vacuum often, are on a tight budget, or want to try one out before investing in high-end units. This unit features five cleaning modes, including auto, edge, max, spot, and scheduling. Moreover, its 2,600mAh battery provides a decent runtime of 110 minutes, allowing it to clean 1,290 square feet on a single charge. Plus, you can control its schedule and operation via the iLifeHome app or connect it to Alexa or Google Assistant for issuing voice commands.
Despite these pros, it came in last since it has an average star rating of 4.0 after being reviewed more than 14,300 times. However, plenty of buyers are happy with this robot vacuum, with 58% of reviewers giving it 5 stars. One such customer noted, “If you want a good sweeper unit without all the fancy junk that makes units cost 3 or 4 times as much, this is your guy!” But some customers mentioned that you should wet the mop first. They also pointed out that it isn’t as intelligent as other models.
13. roborock’s Q7 M5+ Robot Vacuum and Mop sports an accurate navigation system

Next up is roborock’s Q7 M5+. Prized for its precise navigation system, users appreciate how well the 360-degree PreciSense LiDAR technology helps it scan and map their interiors. The manufacturer also claims that it doesn’t cling to static images (although it stores up to three old maps for future use) and can picture each room of your house in real time. This lets it optimize its cleaning paths instead of covering the same spot repeatedly. Additionally, its mapping sequence makes it easier to establish no-go zones. Sometimes, the smart device might even detect cramped corners and suggest a few no-go areas of its own.
As the vacuum cleaner has an average star rating of 4.0 and 59% five-star reviews out of more than 21,500 reviews, it snagged the second-to-last spot on our list. Impressed by its navigation system, one user wrote, “The mapping feature was so quick and so easy. The best part was when we decided we wanted to relocate our vacuum, we moved it to another room and it was able to recognize where it was without having to remap the entire house.” Although, other reviewers suggest that it can be a bit loud, and can’t cover more than 1,200 square feet on a single charge.
12. roborock’s Q10 S5+ Robot Vacuum and Mop will fare well in houses with pets

roborock’s Q10 S5+ is one of the best robot vacuums for homes with pets. This is partly due to its 10,000 pascals (Pa) HyperForce suction that draws in shed hair, food crumbs, and uneaten pellets with ease. And partly because of its primary JawScrapers Comb and specialized anti-tangle side brush that prevent its cleaning efficiency from taking a hit. Its ReactiveTech Obstacle Avoidance also allows it to steer clear of your pets’ chew toys, so you don’t have to organize your floor space before powering the vacuum on. Plus, it doesn’t make a lot of noise (65 dB in balanced mode and 60dB while mopping), so it won’t disturb your pets.
Maintaining an average star rating of 4.0 and earning 62% 5-star reviews from more than 7,800 people who reviewed it, this vacuum came in third-to-last. Sharing why they like the model, a user explained, “Bought to send out as needed when pet hair, dust and dander start to accumulate. Keeps floor areas clean and shiny with the added benefit of reducing less required dusting on furnishings!” Although it’ll need manual emptying, a few reviewers wished it offered an option for scheduling cleaning sessions.
11. dreame’s L10s Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo is a champion at detecting different kinds of surfaces

When you opt for a robotic device that vacuums and mops, you might have to roll away your carpets before deploying water or set strict no-go zones. But that’s not the case with dreame’s L10s Ultra. Its AI visual sensor and laser distance sensor allow it to detect different kinds of surfaces without manual intervention. This means that while it’ll mop your tile, vinyl, and wood floors, it’ll tuck in the wet heads by 7 mm when it detects a carpeted area.
Taking the 11th position, this robot vacuum has amassed about 1,200 reviews, with 64% of customers awarding it five stars. As such, it has an average star rating of 4.0. Happy with their purchase, a user shared, “I have majority wood floor and small sections of area rugs. It mops and vacuums the wood floors and is able to detect when its on carpet, when it does it lifts the mop and vacuums.” However, a few have complained that this robot vacuum isn’t durable and stops working within a few months.
10. iRobot’s Roomba 104 Vac Robot Vacuum is suitable for both floors and carpets

Your area rugs and carpets are two of the trickiest surfaces to keep clean. But if you don’t feel like taking out your hoover weekly, consider iRobot’s Roomba 104 Vac. Reviews suggest that this model can clean your carpets and floors with equal vigor. The manufacturer mentions that it’s due to the device’s multi-surface bristle brush and 70 times more powerful compared to the Roomba 600 series suction. With that said, don’t use it on all kinds of carpets. Reviewers warn against using it on thick, fluffy carpets unless you want to mar their beauty with unsightly track marks all over them.
Regardless, 61% of the approximately 31,400 who reviewed this robot vacuum gave it five stars, bringing its average star rating to 4.1 and getting it the 10th spot. One impressed customer stated, “This vacuum is amazing and does an exceptional job. Cleans great and finds its way back to recharge. My carpets have never looked so good.” Its low battery life is a point of contention, though.
9. roborock’s Qrevo Curv Robot Vacuum and Mop is built for deep cleaning

Following a deep cleaning schedule is ideal for keeping your floors spotless. But if you aren’t in the mood to manually dust, scrub, and wipe dirty surfaces, roborock’s Qrevo Curv can take care of the floors for you. As per the brand, its 18,500 Pa-powered HyperForce suction eliminates the tiniest dirt particles and shed hair. Its smart detection capabilities also allow it to detect leftover debris, triggering a remop. Plus, its FlexiArm Arc side brush is extendable and can wipe along walls and reach corners. Further, the mop water can reach a temperature of up to 167 degrees Fahrenheit, giving your floors a deeper clean when needed.
It has an average star rating of 4.1, with about 67% of the about 1,200 reviewers giving it five stars. Pleasantly surprised by the robot vacuum, a verified reviewer said, “My plan was to see how it did, and then do a super deep clean of the house in hopes that maybe it could at least sorta-maintain it for a week or two at a time. To my shock, *IT* did the super deep clean and I honestly believe the home is cleaner than it has ever been since we’ve owned it – both in regards to mopping and vacuuming.” Still, they wish the app allowed them to customize cleaning schedules by room and the device came with a longer battery life.
8. Narwal’s Freo X10 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo operates silently

Too-loud operations are a common drawback of robot vacuums. Considering this, you might have to schedule cleaning sessions around your, your toddlers’, or your pets’ sleep schedules. This can be mildly annoying at best and maddening at worst. Enter Narwal’s Freo X10 Pro. It operates silently even though it’s equipped with a suction of 11,000 Pa. Other notable features include a triangle-shaped dual spinning mop that applies a downward pressure of 8 Newtons (N) and offers 180 rotations per minute (RPM).
Placing eighth, this robot vacuum has garnered close to 1,300 reviews, with 71% of individuals giving it five stars. Consequently, it has an average star rating of 4.1. Lauding its near-silent operation, a reviewer jotted down, “It’s noticeably quieter than my previous robot vacuum, and the mopping performance is excellent.” Notwithstanding, a few customers have mentioned that the device starts cleaning halfheartedly after a few months.
