The key is finding the right frame. Since books come in standard sizes, measure your pages before buying to ensure a perfect fit. Thrifted frames are a great option – they add personality and are usually pretty cheap. Just make sure they’re sturdy and in good shape.
Frame pages from old books for a unique decor DIY
To get started, find the page (or pages) you want to use. If there’s a special passage you want to highlight, grab some pens, highlighters, or markers and get to annotating. For a rustic look, gently tear the page from the binding. Or, for a cleaner edge, use a hobby knife to carefully cut it out.
Now just position the page in the frame, slide the backing into place, and you’re good to go! Hang it up using a nail if the frame feels heavy, or use some wall hooks if it’s on the lighter side.
Want to get really creative? Try cutting out multiple passages and arranging them on cardstock before framing. Or, for a colorful touch, use watercolors to add some hues to the pages. Just make sure to prep the paper first with an acrylic binder and watercolor ground.
